Meet EHS Scientist Nick Grote
Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Scientist, Safety Officer
Master of Science - Industrial Hygiene, Montana Technological University – Butte, MT
Bachelor of Science - Safety Studies, Keene State College – Keene, NH
I joined the Capaccio team in 2018 and have been assisting our clients with EHS program implementation, on site services, auditing, and industrial hygiene monitoring ever since. I also began training as a management system auditor when I started in 2018 and recently moved up to the role of lead auditor for both the ISO 14001 and 45001 systems.
What do you like best about working in the Health and Safety field?
I enjoy helping clients implement efficient EHS programs that improve worker safety but am most passionate about Industrial Hygiene related programs such as controlling noise or chemical exposures and indoor air quality.
My favorite book series is Harry Potter. Growing up I read each book multiple times and still reread one or two of them a year.
What I enjoy outside of work:
When not working I enjoy getting outside as much as possible camping, hiking, hunting, or going to the beach. One of my favorite activities is returning to a small campground on the mid coast of Maine that I have been going to for 10 years. We took my son there on his first camping trip last fall when he was only 2 months old (he was a trooper!) and are hoping to return later this year if COVID-19 allows!
We're celebrating Safe+Sound week by profiling five of our EHS Scientists.
