MassDEP Toxics Use Reduction Program Deadline Updates
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) has extended the Toxics Use Reduction (TUR) reporting and planning requirements to November 1, 2020 (120 Days after the original deadline of July 1, 2020).
In addition, MassDEP has also extended the Toxics Use Reduction Planner (TURP) recertification deadline. TURPs whose certifications expired prior to July 10, 2020 now have until October 1, 2020 to recertify.
Finally, for those facilities who submitted TUR reports and plan summaries by the July 1, 2020 due date, the MassDEP anticipates mailing out toxics use reduction fee invoices in August 2020. For those facilities that are planning to submit TUR reports and plan summaries after July 1 and prior to November 1, 2020, MassDEP will generate invoices monthly, depending on volumes of submittals, and mail out toxics use reduction fee invoices as the reports and summaries are received. All toxics use reduction fees are due 30 days after the invoice notice date. Late payments will result in a $1,000 late fee.
