Please join us Tuesday, November 12 at the Western Massachusetts Food Bank in Hatfield, MA for the next sustainability roundtable event. Sustainability is a journey, not a destination, and the overall objectives for this roundtable event include:
1. Providing an introduction to sustainability and current trends in sustainability 2. Sharing best practices and experiences in the area of sustainability 3. Participating in structured workshops using tools that participants can take back to their organizations
Facilitated by Wayne Bates, PhD, PE, ENV SP, Vice President and sustainability services leader at Capaccio Environmental Engineering, the roundtable will focus on determining what sustainability may mean to your organization and determine where you are along your journey. We will also discuss how to plan for implementation and benchmark progress. We will begin by asking questions like; What is your organization doing well? What could you improve upon? What current strengths could be converted into opportunities? What weaknesses could become threats? Answering these questions provides a perspective that often sheds light on what internal practices may be achieving sustainable results but may not be communicated within or outside the organization. In addition, you will learn how to use structured conversations and SWOT analyses to discover commonality among functional areas within your organization as you move toward identifying and implementing your goals.
In effort to demonstrate our commitment to the true meaning of sustainability, at the November 12 roundtable session we will be collecting donations for the Food Bank. We encourage you to bring your non-perishable items in a shopping bag to the roundtable event.
