It’s Time to Conduct Your Annual Rideshare Survey and
Submit Your Annual Report!

As many
of you know the Massachusetts Department of Environmental
Protection (MA DEP) requires that facilities meeting
certain criteria collect data on commuting patterns of the
facility’s employees, set goals to reduce drive-alone
commute trips, establish incentives for reduction of
drive-alone commute trips, and complete and submit annual
reports that summarize the facility’s rideshare program.
If you are subject to these rideshare requirements your
annual report is due December 31, 2006!
Criteria
that must be met for the applicability of these
requirements include:

A
facility with 250 or more applicable commuters that is
subject to the MA DEP Air Operating Permit Program (310
CMR 7.00, Appendix C) or
-
A
facility with 1,000 or more applicable commuters
The
definition of “applicable commuters” is employees that
work 17 hours or more per week for 20 or more weeks per
year that commute to work between the hours of 6:00 am –
8:00 pm and use their vehicle for work purposes during
work hours less than 5 times per month.
