Bridge Creek Salt Marsh Restoration Project

On June 2nd a broad spectrum of wetland
restoration partners celebrated the completion of a major step
toward the goal of restoring approximately 40 acres of degraded salt
marsh on Cape Cod Bay. According to the Bridge Creek
Restoration Plan prepared by the Massachusetts Wetlands Restoration
Program, the increased tidal interaction, range, and salinities
entering the site will enhance the habitat functions and values of
the system. |

is a proud sponsor of the Corporate Wetlands Restoration
Partnership. Operating as a private sector initiative, it was
started in Massachusetts three years ago by The Gillette Company,
the Massachusetts Executive Office of Environmental Affairs, and the
US EPA. It has since expanded to nine other states including
Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Alaska, California,
New York, New Jersey and Texas. |
